I spent half of my career marketing Consumer Packaged Goods, anything from tofu to laundry detergents. In this world, I witnessed the power of branding. And everyone in the business, not just marketing, loved and lived the brand.
About 10 years ago, I moved to Tech. I worked with tech giants from the West Coast, like PayPal, Adobe, and London’s start-ups. Here, I quickly realised the little focus there is on branding in Tech.
The problem is that customers connect with brands and are loyal to brands, not products. Whether you are selling tofu or software, whether you are in B2B or B2C – humans connect with brand stories, not product features. Recognising the branding gap in tech, I started Renegade - an agency dedicated to building remarkable tech brands.
